This beautiful hummingbird of nw Venezuela and Colombia is restricted to the Eastern Andes (1900 – 3000m) where it inhabits dry temperate forests, shrubby vegetation and gardens.
It can be seen along the road to Chingaza National Park two hours away from Bogota.
