A rare greenlet from humid forest and second growth between 1000-2100m in the three Andean ranges of Colombia. Present only in north-western Venezuela, Colombia & Ecuador. Previously in the genus Hylophilus.

Pairs or family groups frequently join mix groups, where active and vocal.

Can be seen in La Romera ecopark (municipality of Sabaneta, near Medellin) and Otún-Quimbaya Wildlife Sanctuary.
